The Franklin Mint Presidential Coin Collection
is a series of $1 gold coins engraved with pictures
of United States starting with President George Washington.
The Presidential Dollar Collection was
first struck in 2007. Four coins will be released every
year with an engraving of a president on the front of
the Franklin Mint Coin and a different rendition of
the Statue of Liberty on the back of the coin.
The Franklin Mint released the George
Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James
Madison coins in 2007. 2008 will bring James Monroe,
John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson, and Martin Van Buren.
The 2009 series of Franklin Mint Presidential Coins
will be William H. Harrison, John Tyler, James K. Polk,
and Zachary Taylor.
Each Franklin Mint Presidential Coin will
have the same weight, size, and metal composition of
the Sacagawea Golden Dollar.
